Within this trek the Entrepreneurship Club brings twenty international MBA students from Barcelona’s IESE Business School to explore the vibrant entrepreneurship scene in Barcelona. On November 11th-12th, 2015 students will get the opportunity to run through the entrepreneurial life cycle from founding, funding and scaling of different businesses within different sectors.
The objective is to explore different perspectives from the key partners and players of the industry: founders, accelerators, and venture capital funds.
In the last decade, Barcelona has built a very strong entrepreneurial ecosystem and is becoming a vibrant location for both entrepreneurs and investors. Located in the Southern Europe region, it offers a great geographical connection point with Europe, America and Africa, an excellent living environment due to its weather, food and people which allows attracting great talent (on top of its well ranked Business Schools) and an increasing interest from investors to back up Barcelona based ventures.
In 2014, startups in Catalonia raised a total of 176 million euros (60% of total startup investments in Spain) and this figure has been increasing year by year.
What companies can expect
You can expect a group of students who are passionate about entrepreneurship, technology, and the rising stars of Barcelona’s startup world!
In addition, some students may be interested in discussing opportunities within your organization (both full-time and internships).
What students can expect
We expect to visit your company and meet some of your founders and/or top executives. Our objective is to learn from you about how you started your business, the challenges you faced and how you see the future of your company and industry, with a special emphasis on Barcelona and abroad. The visit can take any form most appropriate, such as a presentation, Q&A, company tour, networking session or workshop.
